It’s peak leaf season here in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, home of AIER’s historic, 110-acre campus. I shot these photos on a recent series of crisp autumn days.

… and one from our neighbor, the Berle sheep farm:

Bruce Gore

Bruce Gore began work with AIER as driver/handyman shortly out of high school in 1973. A year later, he moved to the pressroom, eventually becoming production supervisor. He is one of the few remaining employees who knew AIER founder, E.C. Harwood, and he says he feels strongly connected to the history and the purpose of organization. In 1996, he left AIER to pursue a lifelong dream to be in the building business. Nine years later, he was rehired following the retirement of the previous facilities manager. Bruce retired in 2021.

Among Bruce’s outside interests is nature photography, some of his photos are on display in the E.C. Harwood Library.
