Chapter Director
Surse Pierpoint is president of Fundacion Libertad de Panama, a liberty oriented think tank in Panama, Central America. Mr. Pierpoint graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1982, with a double major in Spanish and Latin American Studies. Surse met Ben Rast, the original founder of what was to become the Bastiat Society based in Charleston, South Carolina. He was excited to start the second chapter (Panama, first international chapter) as an opportunity to bring together like minded people to meet in a friendly venue to talk and listen to invited speakers and discuss and spread the ideas of individual freedom and free markets.
He currently enjoys reading and supporting the work coming from the American Institute for Economic Research, our parent organization.
